Sustainable Homes - Weatherization

“One in three US households face challenges in meeting energy needs.” 2015 Residential Energy Consumption Survey

As shapers of the built environment, architects are uniquely positioned to address the energy needs of our buildings through energy conserving design strategies and thoughtful planning. It’s good for the environment in the long run and it’s good for our families now. Especially very low income families who often have to decide which basic needs to fill on a week to week basis. We were pleased to host Richard Lyew of Studio Lyew and the DC Department of Energy and Environment to discuss ways to make homes more energy efficient and save money on bills as a result. We also discussed DOEE’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program and how qualifying residents can access benefits. Download the presentation below
